Sherpa in Croatia

I am a happy man since I met Stipe. After the death of my dear father, Stipe is my support and I thank him immensely for everything. Every day I pray for him to live long and happy and I’ll pray my whole life.

The young Buddhist priest Mingma Nuru Sherpa even as a boy won the heart the conquerors of the world highest peaks Stipe Bozic, who keeps in touch with him and his family since back in 1979th when his father, the famous Sherpa Ang Phu slipped  and killed just a day after the Stipe and his father stood at the ” top of the world . ”

Although Sherpas are many people who remind us of the burden of jars of the mountain, in the translation of these Eastern people: Shar (East ) + Pa ( people). Pulled much from Tibet, a tribe in Nepal occurred 400 years ago , driven by the myth of the promised land of the Himalayas, where everything flourishes of wealth. Today in the Himalayan valley of Khumbu live more than 7000  Sherpas, while in Nepal, less than a million .

Five days of walking to the house

– Their life is very difficult – telling us Mingma Nuru, whom Stipe Bozic week ago hosted at his home. The trip, which he has already broadened horizons, Mingma Nuru has started in Kathmandu, 7000 km away by air and 15 hours of flying , which was for young Sherpa  unique experience . And he told us and how it looks when you decide to travel to “hop” from the Drepung Loseling Buddhist universities in India to visit his family in the Khumbu valley .

His name means good Tuesday

– We had correspondence and we also found in Nepal whenever was an opportunity. Mingma is a remarkable young man born on one good Tuesday – what is the meaning of his name : Mingma – Tuesday , Nuru – good. Sherpas life is hard, they live mainly from agriculture, the cultivated potato, rye and wheat and kept herds of yaks that graze on the highest mountains of the world, and from that animals they have milk, cheese and meat. Sherpas used them for transportation, since from its wool made tents and dried dung is useful as fuel. In Nepal pepole eat a lot of rice and potatoes – telling us Mingma Nuru, who was tasting delicious Dalmatian decided to honor their hosts Stipe’s lunch .
Mingma prepared their rice, lentils , potatoes, cabbage and chard  and everything spiced with chili. Stipe took him rafting canyoning, sailing on ship on Neretva river, visited island of Hvar, canyon Paklenica, Trogir and Vrgorac where Stipe is his dear guest met with the President Ivo Josipovic and therefore he did a great honor.

The journey of his life, Stipe will be the next ten days his friend to take over in Dubrovnik Plitvice to Zagreb. Sherpa was enchanted by the beauty of our country, and is particularly fascinated by the color of the sea .
– People are friendly and cheerful and the food is excellent here. Stipe took me on a tour of the museum, city and nature, and touched me and meet with your president – said Mingma Nuru with a bad English, which will improve the return to their homeland .
For a Buddhist priest in India, he studied for 16 years, and it is expected by the end of nex year, in the student center which enrolls students even 7000 .

In fact,  from the last bus stop to his valley has five days walking. And all that often uphill and downhill. Preliminary Mingma has some 78 hours traveling by bus and train over 2800 km from his Indian monastery to Kathmandu.
